Patrick Daly
Welcome
Life is what you make it, even if you are disabled.
My name is Patrick Daly and I live in Morden, Surrey. I set this website up because I wanted to help people understand more about direct payments and individual budgets as well as offer support to those who have a disability.
I am a very independent person and I like to do as much as I can, even though I live with a disability. I suffered a brain stem stroke in 1992 and since then I have been living with a physical impairment.
I am actively involved in the community within the London Borough of Merton. I sit on a number of committees for organisations working for people with various impairments.
I like to keep in touch with the outside world and keep up to date with what is happening in this little world of ours. I like rugby and I go to Twickenham from time to time for the Six Nations Matches. I like country and western music and music from the 60s. I enjoy creative writing and have written many stories and poems.
I like working on my computer as it’s the most effective way to carry out work for the committees or groups that I am involved in. I am the treasurer for a few groups and this involves working on their accounts. I also control my own payroll and take of my own accounts regarding Direct Payments.
Over the last five years, I have helped people with their care plans if they have needed it; I give them advice regarding doing their own accounts or if they employ someone, guide them to manage their payroll.
This website is a culmination of information I have gathered over the years and hopefully will help you to make sense of direct payments and help with individual budgets.

This website contains my own personal views & opinions,
I hope you find it useful.
